The Boat Our W – Offshore 125
Our W was designed and built as a custom dive boat in 1998 by ‘Woody’ and Grahame Knott of Weymouth and has been a very popular choice there
In 2004 the opportunity to acquire her arose and she made the ideal choice for Dive125
Our W is fully equipped to MCA Cat 2 which allows her to be on charter up to 60 miles from safe haven, in our region this covers the whole of the channel including ‘mid channel’ sites and trips to Fecamp and the French side
In addition to the statutory life saving equipment (15 man life raft, life jackets and thermal protection aids) and medical stores we carry Oxygen Administration Equipment
The boat features a large central kitting bench suitable for 12 divers, all with twin sets/CCRs AND 2 side mounts.
When used for a less 'technical' group the dive deck appears almost empty and the additional space is ideal for Clubs and Organisations running courses
Entry is from the stern starboard side at deck level
Exit from the water is by the use of a hydraulic diver lift (A conventional dive ladder is also carried)
There is a sea toilet in its own full size compartment on the deck now with a HOT fresh water shower
We have a 12cfm clean air compressor for Air fills and, by arrangement, we can provide Nitrox and Trimix for those who are qualified
A 240V 4.5kVA Invertor has also been installed allowing customers to recharge torches, cameras etc as well as the galley microwave/oven to be used at sea
Divers are welcome in the large wheel house and to use the 4 bunks in the fore-peak cabin but please do remove your dive suits
There is a galley area for complementary teas, coffees, hot chocolate or soup
Please feel free to browse the collection of wreck books and Diver Guides that are on board – many a ‘cunning plan’ and inspiration for a dive or expedition has happened this way
